Attention Whore

Attention seeking whore. That’s what I read. Someone on FaceBook was asking for prayers. Someone chimed in and called them an attention seeking whore. Come on now. That’s cold. They may indeed be attention seeking, but why judge? Why pile on?

We’ve all had life kick the shit out of us at one time or another. Many of us have sat in silence. I am a big fan of working the problem until I cannot work it anymore. I am a bigger fan of asking for help when I need it. And while that is a rare occasion for me, I am in no way afraid to ask for help. Does that make me weak? Maybe. But my weak ass will accept the help to get out of a jam. And you should too.

We have unlimited, dreams, prayers and hope inside of us. Go for it. Pray big, dream big and use every bit of energy you have to create and connect. Do not worry about public perception. Fear of what others think, is nothing more than energy zapped. No one is immune to public ridicule. The Internet took care of that. So go ahead and crash in a loud and fabulous manner.

So what am I talking about tonight? Let them call you an attention whore. Let them think what they want. Get on with healing yourself. And if you need help, ask for it. Dream big, pray big and hold onto hope. Leave nothing inside when you craft your prayer.

And if it takes a village to move forward…use that village. If that village is the cause of your despair…burn it to the ground. Because you’re not seeking attention. You’re seeking connection. And you won’t get that, when everyone has an opinion that operates outside of love.
