Brain Pain
There is a thunder storm in your head. There is so much noise, so many thoughts that are racing. You’re feeling overwhelmed and under appreciated. You are mentally drained and physically exhausted. You my friend, are experiencing brain pain. Are you ready? Let’s get into it.
We all feel this way from time to time. But what happens when this is the norm? Day after day you feel as though you cannot get up, let alone caught up. That you simply cannot find a moments peace. Sound familiar? Make the today the day where you commit to yourself. You have options. It’s time for you to exercise them.
You have to advocate for yourself. Not many people are going to do it for you. Start with getting a vision of what you would like your life to look like. No sense expending energy, until you are crystal clear on what you are moving towards. But here is a word to the wise. This journey will probably piss off some people. The good news is, you now know who’s not your people. Let them remove themselves from your life.
I am a huge fan of meditation. A quiet mind is such a vastly underestimated skill that will serve you in every aspect of your life. Slow down is a means to quiet down. The less that you have to contend with, the less pain in your brain you will feel. See what I am getting at? It’s all about distractions, baby. And baby, you’ve got too many of them.
Here is another tip. Limit your time viewing the news and social media. Be selective of the information that you are taking in. If you’re not careful, you soon will start to believe the bullshit, that you never would have believed otherwise. WE ARE THE PRODUCT OF OUR ENVIRONMENT. So change your environment if it does not serve you.
Don’t let what you consume, consume you. What you put into your body has a direct impact on how you think and feel. I swear I could write an entire book on this alone. Be mindful of this. In a fast paced world, we often make fast paced decisions on what we eat and drink. Be prepared before the day puts a strain on you.
And the last thing I will say in regards to brain pain is, know who you have coupled up with. There is a great saying from a movie that I just adore. In effect, it goes something like this, “Don’t couple up with the person you want to spend Friday night with. Couple up with the person you want to spend all day Saturday with.” Boom! I like to say, choose a person that feels like home. Because if they’re in your home, that’s a lot of time to be together. So they better be on the same frequency as you.
So there you have it. Not exactly a prescription, but it is an outline on how to declutter the mind. And if you do, you may just see some of that brain pain start to dissipate. A little investment on your part, may just turn your entire life around. And if you’re still reading this, I am guessing there is a need to make some adjustments.
