Christ, Crystals And Kindness
I am a philosopher. More importantly, I am a searcher. And this means that I look for truth. Not only do I look for it, I have to feel it. And that is where faith gets in the way. Faith is not inherently bad. But blind faith is. In other words, if you still believe what you were taught as a kid, more than likely, you have not stepped out and examined the opposite of what you were taught. And that can be limiting your growth.
I was raised Catholic. And for the most part, I really liked it. Even considered becoming a priest for a period of time. But as I got older, I realized that I enjoyed sex too much, hence, becoming a priest was off the table. I love the concept of Christ. I do not like the concept of Christians. But if I am being honest, I am not a fan of calling myself a follower of anything, other than love.
I started to explore all world religions and belief systems. I landed in the New Age movement for about a decade. But that too, had its own set of problems and egos. So I walked away from that as well. Don’t get me wrong, I have found beauty in most religions and belief systems. I feel at home with them all. Which is evident by my house. It is lined with crucifix, candles, crystals, pentagrams, and everything else under the sun. Why? Because I believe it is all connected.
What does life mean? Love. What is the purpose of religions? Love. But they seem to want us to believe differently. They want to divide us. Because that is how they control us. Do not conform. The best education I ever received was, befriending people that don’t look, think or act like me. I think in many cases, religions missed the mark. A little known band called The Beatles may have just gotten it right. All you need is love. As to what happens when we die? I think they nailed that too when they said, “ And in the end. The love you take. Is equal to the love you make.
