Laid
We’re all going to get laid. Some of us are going to get burned. Either way, it’s happening. Let’s get into it.
We’re all going to be laid to rest. It is inevitable. So, what is the point of life? Ask a hundred different people, get a hundred different answers. As for me, that has changed many times in my life. As we get older and mature, people and places will take on different meanings. And if you’re honest with yourself, you will be aware that you’re going to get laid. But many of us aren’t. We deny the inevitable. And as a result, some will live a life that lacks substance.
The importance of people. As I got older, I realized that life was much bigger than me. That it is not all about me. And what was beautiful about that was, life opened up in a way, that I never would have imagined. Instead of placing value on money and things {which I still honor}, I gravitate towards the simple things. The sunsets, the deep conversation and in general, just being alive. In these simple things, there is honesty. It is like a dose of reality. As if life were saying, “ Look what I have created for you”. I derive so much power there.
I heard a line in a movie once. The line was, “Money is not power, it’s paper. Power comes from the trees and the rivers.” These simple things sustain life. Yes, money will give you options. But it will not give you happiness. It can give you distractions. But that is about it. In fact, there are many studies that confirm just that. I won’t go into them, but if you do a simple Google search, you will see what I am saying.
So today I write to say, “We’re all going to get laid”. Time and health are the real currency. Use it wisely.
