Not That Man

Not that man. Not anymore. He may look the same, but he is clearly different. Yes he walks the same. His voice is the same. But he carries himself in a way that is foreign. There is a different vibration about him. A kindness. A gentleness. The years changed him. And the change did him good.

Ever run into someone that you haven’t seen in years, and it feels like old times? Feels good doesn’t it? But what about when that person has changed and it doesn’t feel good? Does that threaten you? Does it remind you that you haven’t changed? That maybe you are of the same mindset that you were all those years ago? Hopefully we all change. And may that change be for the good. But we don’t. Some get stuck in a comfort zone. A belief system that they haven’t challenged. Could be out of fear, or maybe laziness. But I personally like change. In fact, I run towards it.

There will be people that don’t want you to evolve. Evolve anyway’s. Change keeps you sharp… interesting. Change feeds the soul. We will lose people, but find ourselves. Life is a dance. And we will have many partners. And speaking of partners. Pick one that will challenge you to keep up. In every sense of the word. New horizons bring new adventures, new results. Living in a castle with a moat will protect you, but the world will pass you by. Do yourself a favor. Burn that castle to the ground.

Not that man. Not anymore. He is uninterested in talking about the past. Not affected that he once danced with you. He cares not about your opinion, and does not require your permission. He is wild. Wind in his hair and only searches for truth and happiness. He sees life as a blessing. He finds the good in everything. He constantly test his belief system. All that matters is freedom. And at the end of the day, he bows his head and say’s “Thank you”. Thank you for all that he was, is, and who he will be. At the end of the day. That man is me.
