One

One. That’s it. And that is all. What is your one message to the world? What is the one take away that people would know about you? You meet them in person. You connect online. What is the sum of your life that is undeniable?

I was meditating tonight, and I thought about this. If you met me or have been following me online, you would probably have several takeaways. But the one that is probably most pronounced is, that you feel safe. I am pretty much a judgement free zone. You just feel like you can be yourself.

I spent my entire life working in the helping profession. I advocate for equality and speak life into people. But why? The answer is because we’ve all felt broken at one time or another in our lives. I spend my days comforting the homeless. In the evenings, I work as both a consultant and coach. A lot of people have lost their way. So my “one” is hope, kindness and safety.

I saw a post online today from a connection saying, “I can tell by my analytics that a bunch of you saw my post. Yet, not many of you “Liked” it. The number of “Likes” you get will not help you like yourself. In a social media age, so many are basing their worth on social media interaction. This is self care suicide. This can, and has also led to real life suicide. We have got to find our way back to our center, to who we are.

I spent almost my entire life meditating. That has produced some pretty amazing results. Have I gotten off track? Fuck yeah. But I am gentle in the process for getting back to myself. And perhaps that is what this life is all about. Finding that one thing that binds you to all things. As Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.

Increase the peace. One Love!
