Pump!

I like to pump. Because it feels good and I deserve it. And if you’re not pumping, you really should get into the habit. It’s good for your health, you’ll feel more relaxed, and you will actually get better at it. So before your mind goes completely to the dark side, I am talking about pumping the breaks.

Red flags. Some of us have spent our entire life collecting red flags. Even worse, some of us boast about it. You know what I am going to say now…so here’s the thing. Red flags are not sexy. You know why they are red? Because red means stop. Those relationships where we ignore the red flags because we find them exciting…yeah they don’t work out. Everyone wants the bad boy, until he does something really bad to you. I get it when we’re young and we look past red flags. But as we get older, some of us just can’t learn.

It doesn’t matter what type of situation or relationship I am in. Show me a red flag, I’m going to pump. I’m a laid back cat and give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Lord knows many have done the same for me. But at flag number two, I pump the breaks. Flag number 3, I cut the breaks and let you merrily drive off in a different direction. It’s not because I don’t care for you. It’s because I care for me. And I’m not talking about someone that I have a long track record with. We’re all going to make mistakes, therefore, I believe in cutting some slack. But there is a difference when it comes to red flags. They hit different and you know it. It’s not the run of the mill disagreement.

Do yourself a favor and start to pump. Be it a job, friend or love interest. If you’re seeing a pattern of feeling more off than on, pump! Set some boundaries. If those red flags continue to happen, forget the pump and just dump. Dump the job, the person and in some cases the belief system. Trust me, at the end of the day, you will be glad you did. Better to have a little discomfort up front, than years of feeling off. So if you’re seeing red…flags. Pump!
