Self-Care Don’t Care

People will give you a hard time, for taking time for yourself. Trust me, these are not your people. Part of self-care is, having people in your circle who accept your decision to unplug and recharge. But more than that, they will often encourage you to do so… even when you do not recognize you’re in need.

I have at times been accused of being selfish. You know what? If self love is selfish, than yeah, I’m guilty. But beyond that, I simply never gave a fuck. I protect me, so I can better interact with you. Those who get it, get me. Those who don’t, get ghosted. Life is far too short to be bullied into doing something that is not aligned with your spirit. So don’t.

Self-care don’t care. It does not give a second thought to others feelings. Now this is not an excuse to be an asshole. This is a way to level up and to level out. And you cannot be all that you were created to be, if you are saddled with those who are weighing you down. Do yourself a favor. Take the saddle off. Run, be free.

So, here is my message to you today. Be aware and take care. Know when you’re not firing on all cylinders. Surround yourself with people who want what’s best for you. Then return the favor. Create an environment that fosters health and well being. And remember, self-care don’t care. If doing what’s best for you is selfish, than be selfish. Because there will always be people who are threatened by your growth.
