Squirrel

I get it now. It is amazing that all the things that we thought we would never do, or would never happen to us, most certainly do. Getting older. Both a blessing and a curse. I was literally in the middle of something and totally forgot what I was doing. Squirrel! Son of a bitch, it is happening more and more often. But wait, there’s more…

I would like to think that I didn’t make fun of my elders growing up. But kids will be kids. I know I did. And I don’t think pay back is a bitch. Nor do I believe in karma. Life just keeps on lif-ing. Can’t stop the train. Better learn to embrace change pretty quick. Because change is the only thing that is certain. So open your arms and take it in.

There is so much change as we become older. The things that used to excite me, yeah…I don’t give a fuck about anymore. You know what is exciting to me at age 59? A long nap after a good meal, followed by some wife time in the evening. That’s it. Doesn’t take much to make this boy happy. I’m not sure all people my age feel this way. After all, I’ve had a pretty amazing life filled with love, travel, and lots of money. But the flip side of that coin is horrific loss as well. But I digress.

Getting older {at least for me} has better equipped me to dance while I am on this planet. But again, I’ve been meditating for almost my entire life, so not sure my age group feels the same way? But we have more pains in our bodies and are tired of the bullshit. We are unapologetic and we do not settle. But I have to admit when you forget something while you’re doing it, is a little….squirrel!

I am sure there was a point to this article, but it’s 10:00 on a Saturday morning. So if you would excuse me, I am late for my nap.
