The Jazz Was Too Good

Today was one of those days, where things went wrong from the jump. Wife and I are accustomed to this, as we have experienced way too much, at such a young age. But here’s the thing. We pour into our spiritual life on a nightly basis. Our entire house is designed to be a blessing. But it is our spiritual practice that brings our home to life. And that energy and daily practice pay’s dividends.

This morning as things went south, there was very little conversation about it. We individually went into prayer in meditation mode. We then both took a nap. When we awoke, it was like some divine universal intervention, moved everything in the right direction. There were a few things that we needed to run out for {in the pouring rain mind you}, but again, we stayed in gratitude.

Everything flowed together and we had a pretty magical night. We had some soft jazz playing on the radio. And man, it was on point. We stopped to get some coffee and then headed down to the water and sat in the rain. Silently giving thanks, just enjoying the moment. The rain hitting the roof of the car, made for a scene out of the movies.

Tonight, the jazz was just too good. Despite the rough start, I am thankful for a partner that doesn’t panic. She understands that it all serves a purpose. And for that reason alone, I would walk through Hell for her. And for that reason alone, the universe delivered some jazz, that was just too good tonight.
