Unscripted

My relationship with my wife is that of an non choreographed dance. Seamless and always flows. It has never been rigid. Ageless and timeless. It has yet to crescendo. But why? Because you have two people that demand the very best versions of themselves, which means you always get the real, unscripted truth. There is both beauty and power in that.

By the time I made my way to her, I was no longer looking for casual. I was looking for transformational. I wanted sex, that would keep me aligned, yet to lose myself simultaneously. I wanted a mirror. Someone who would reflect all the hard work that I was putting in to come back to me. I wanted a searcher. Someone that would never stop looking for truth, love, and light.

April and I have been dancing for over 2 decades. She has literally checked every box. Everything has been new. We have traveled to new destinations. We created a love language that was unique and our own. We have cultivated our meditations, that has us speaking in full conversations, without having to utter a word. And lastly, we have never judged each other, or the very world that we live in. Peace is our calling card.

I knew I was on the right track when we first got together. I never spit out old lines, that used to work in prior relationships. Sure, they were good lines. But she was worthy of so much more. There was nothing prepackaged in my approach to her. It was all authentic. She deserved the parts of me that I yet to discover. For that reason, I had to level up, and go to the places that I had never been before.

Same holds true for her. Within the first week of meeting her, I gave her a key to my house, and told her we would be married within the year. And while she told me from date one, that she never wanted to get married, she too had to trust the parts of herself that she had yet to meet.

So what am I talking about tonight? If you want something that you have never had before, you have to do things you’ve never done before. It needs to come from the heart. It needs to be unscripted. You may think you know how to dance. But until you become the dance, you will always be a little out of rhythm.

So go now. To the parts of you that you have never been to before. That’s where the music is. And you will dance forever.
