Waiting To Be Written

So, I keep a journal of thoughts and quotes that come off the cuff. To date, I have 343 stories that I am working on. Tonight, I randomly opened my journal and picked out one to write on. So here we go….

When you pray, get into the habit of thinking- Nothing is more important than this prayer. While I am not big on prayer, I do believe that we should be “all in” for this sacred act. Prayer is a bridge between us and the divine. God or not, there is something bigger than us. And why wouldn’t we want to have a relationship with that?

I, from a very young age have been meditating. But my entire meditation practice flows between prayer and the sacred breaths I am taking. There is a state of quietness that allows me to receive. When I transition into prayer, I am asking. And I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. I just focus really hard on acceptance. That keeps me in the present moment. Not some far away “want” that I am asking for. And I do ask. But I am a minimalist when I ask in prayer.

Meditation, prayer and life all ask but one thing. That you simply show up for it. Just as I have 343 stories waiting to be written, I cannot write them, until I open my journal and show up to write. And that is what I am talking about. Your life. You are the author. And your story is just waiting to be written. And nothing is more important than that.
